All About the Vintage Details
The Dress.
Victorian-era handwoven tambor lace gown from the late 1880s. Acquired from Gossamer vintage boutique. The chair in the background is also from the Victorian-era, acquired from a family friend and hand-reupholstered by the bride.
The Necklace.
1920s Mikimoto pearls that belonged to the bride’s great-grandmother, Louise Brown. The pearls were a present for her 18th birthday from her Uncle Ben, who raised her. The pearls have been worn by the women of the bride’s family for many special occasions.
The Cufflinks.
Black Onyx French cufflinks bought by the groom’s mother as a wedding present for his father. She passed the cufflinks down as the groom entered adulthood. Black Onyx is considered to be a stone of strength and protection of its beholder.
The Handkerchief.
1920s hand-embroidered handkerchief that originally belonged to the bride’s great-grandmother, Gracie May Livingston-McKinney. It was passed down to the bride’s grandmother and then her mother, for her own wedding day.
